Visit statistics

Umami receives page requests, approximate location such as country and state, browser and device categories, referral website names and selected campaign labels. Complete resume PDF requests are counted separately; that does not tell me whether someone read the document.

Cloudflare sends these statistics in the background. Umami briefly processes the connection IP address and browser information to estimate location and group visits with a site-specific identifier that changes monthly. Raw IP addresses are not fields in the analytics reports. Network and security logs are separate, so this does not mean an IP address is never processed or logged.

I do not use this information to identify individual visitors, follow them across other websites or build advertising profiles. Location is an estimate and may reflect a mobile network, VPN or privacy relay. Known bots and automated requests are filtered, but the counts are estimates.

Cloudflare also provides aggregate traffic and page-performance measurements. These are separate from Umami and are not controlled by the Umami exclusion below.

Analytics history is retained for up to six months on the current plan. Website delivery and security also involve Cloudflare and Namecheap. Their operational records have their own retention practices. Umami privacy information, Cloudflare privacy information and Namecheap privacy information.

Your choice

You can exclude this browser from Umami collection. This will not affect the website.

The exclusion uses a simple first-party preference cookie for up to one year. It is not a unique tracking identifier. Set it in each browser you use; clearing cookies or using a new private window removes the preference. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals also exclude requests from Umami collection. These choices do not stop the records needed to deliver and protect the website.

Website preferences

The appearance selector remembers your Light, Dark or System choice in this browser. That setting is separate from analytics and is not a visitor identifier.
